Bikini waxing for tweens?
http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/BeautySecrets/story?id=4881675&page=1

Some spas now are giving their tween clients resort-type treatments and pint-size pampering. The offerings go beyond the typical painted nails.

Catering to a kid's every possible desire, some spas have stepped up their tween care by offering hair highlights, microdermabrasion and bikini waxes for girls as young as 11 and 12

==========

sorry, my daughter isnt getting anything like that done until she's old enough to pay for it herself.

1. I can maybe, maybe, maybe see the hair highlights, but none of the other services.
Good grief.

4. If my daughter felt uncomfortable with her appearance
in her bikini area, and a bikini wax would resolve it, then why not?

Some girls mature faster than others and I would rather her be confident than self-conscious.

7. Licensed, and yet non practicing hairstylist, piping up...
That was the most ridiculous thing I had ever seen. One, as a hairstylist, I limited the age to which I applied chemicals to a child's head to 16. So many hormones are going wonky and why would one want to destroy a child's hair at such a young age. Perms don't take well...highlights end up grabbing, frying and looking fake. God, I could go on and on. They can get it done, but it ain't gonna be me behind the chair.

9. I was only a hairstylist as a hobby
But I totally agree with you. I set the limit at 18. And I'd tell people, you can find someone to do this to your kid but it won't be me.

Khash.

11. Why would a kid need microdermabrasion?
How much sun damage can someone accumulate by the time one is 11 years old? :shrug:
