i don't hold grudges, keep spreadsheets, scores, or tabs on anyone.

i take everyone at face value.

the only thing that bothers me about people here is when they get into "mob action" mode. and that's just because it really takes an unthinking, uncaring, insecure person to act that way. to want to fit in that badly.

Here's my rant(apologia). I lurked the GD:P site for years, never signing up. But I really wanted to get my .02 in. I finally signed up right before I had jury duty. I just thought that after it was over I would need someone to talk to, and I wanted to talk to the people here; I thought I would get a sympathetic ear. I never posted about my jury duty experience; it just never seemed the right time, although I still really need to talk to someone about it. I wanted to get my post count up before posting in GD:P since I've seen how people with low post counts get treated there. So I thought I would get my post count up in the lounge, as well as the Theology/Religion forum, but that was also a hostile environment. I've been hanging out in the lounge ever since, haven't even posted in GD:P. Since then I've barely glanced at GD:P. I just don't have anything interesting to say, but have really enjoyed the posts in the lounge. All this gets me to a joke about post counts that might have been funny with the right emoticon and without assuming a rapport that hasn't been established. I hope I don't get banned, 'cuz I really want to be a part of DU.

P.S. To Ava, I haven't figured out how to PM you so I can apologize personally, but I know the post you're talking about and will apologize personally when I figure out how.

P.S.S I guess when you type GD you get an emoticon, since I didn't intentionally add any of them in my post.

I'm actually proud of it, but it was Felony Murder trial of a 19 yo that killed his best friend. We either had to convict a kid and send him to prison for a horrible accident or tell the victim's parents "Hey, shit happens". We ended up with the latter. The kid was not legally guilty, so we had to let him go. I know our verdict was correct, but the situation still sucks.

One of my first posts (under 1000) ... I had just found out that a very dear long distance friend had passed away. I came to the Lounge looking for human touch. I posted the e-mail that the daughter had sent to her Mother's (my friend whom had passed) e-mail address list. It was one long runon sentence and you could tell the child was crying when she wrote it. I was crying when I posted it here in the Lounge. It got 0 (ZERO) response! So much for the Lounge love.....

Early on, I posted two copy cat threads in the lounge that I thought were funny and they both got locked.

Then I posted something in GD asking how one got to be cool with the lounge and the mods moved it to the lounge. Uh-oh.
