I just watched Lions for Lambs. Ask me (almost) anything. |
|
I thought it was a really good movie.

1. I didn't watch the whole thing |
|
It seemed like it was going to be just a series of poorly written debates. So does it get better after the first hour or so?

I don't think it started out weak. I enjoyed the different situations and how they are all tied together.

there didn't seem to be much of a point to the movie. They set up three distinct storylines and kinda never went anywhere with them. Plus the ending is depressing.

the point is that Tom Cruise is a fucking idiot and a pompous asshole!
First of all, I am a graduate teaching assistant so I really got into the Professor / Student story line which, in the end is the main one I was left with.
The other two were both great story lines in and of themselves, but for me were support for the other. This was not so much a war protest, administration protest, which it served well, but a call to action movie. (though I think it worked on all points)
It left some things hanging for you to think about, but I don't think you have to tie it all up in a nice bow for it to be good and have redeeming value.
Besides, as I mentioned earlier, it made one thing very clear: Tom Cruise is a fucking idiot and a pompous asshole!
also, I really liked the characterizations. Remind me of my own life. Life is what happens while you are making plans
