1. for my personal sanity...

(and not just here) i click "reply" and type out my most blazing response, go over it several times... correcting spelling, grammar and thought...

and when i am finally convinced that this is the greatest. response. evah!


i think to myself, eh? don't do it. and i close the browser without ever hitting the "submit" key. it said what i wanted to say. to me. and after all that time i'm usually calmed down enough to come to my senses.




but then, if i've just come in from a night at the bar bitching with my friends, that last rule might be overlooked...

3. Not really. I've chosen not to say things I thought were vicious or rude, but my experience

has been that ~90% of the time someone chimes in with a comment that is vastly more offensive than what I declined to say. I guess I'm just at the milquetoast end of the thread-post-viciousness continuum...
