Did you watch "Recount" on HBO? |
|
Was it good enough for me to subscribe to HBO to catch a rerun?

2. Do you want to get depressed about 2000 all over again? Then watch it. |

3. It was both well done and depressing. |

Great acting performances on all counts, engrossing story.
But it literally depressed me the day after I saw it. Not only in the fact of what we got stuck with 8 years after because of what happened, but because also people these days have been so quick to forget the underlying moral of the story.

It was a reminder of how dirty, corrupt, dishonest, thieving asshole Repukes stole our election, and also that nothing's really changed - the Repukes are still as dirty, the media is still in their pocket, and Americans just as dumbed-down as ever.
Excellent script and acting, depressing subject. But worth every minute watching it.

4. I'm already depressed enough over the past eight years. Why add to it? |

9. Yes, I watched it. No, it's not worth it. |
|
Don't get me wrong, it's well done. But there's nothing spectacular about it. I certainly wouldn't subscribe to HBO just to see it.
And really, it's reliving Nov-Dec 2000 for 2 hours. It's not a pleasant experience. Like Titanic, the ending doesn't change.
Also, aside from putting things into order and forcing me to remember some things I'd blocked, there really wasn't any new information in it. At least not to those of us who were paying attention the first time, as I'm sure you were.

11. I'd be willing to bet that HBO will release it on DVD within a few months |
|
It would probably be cheaper to buy it or rent it when it does

but I suspect it will be one of those movies that sits in the DVR for months and months. I'm just not ready to relive that nightmare.
From the other comments, I'm glad I didn't watch it in real time.

I liked it. It was informative. It wasn't amazing but it was interesting. It'll probably come out on video. I wouldn't subscribe just to watch it.

|
have HBO.
(No, I'm not stealing it.)

15. I'm watching it in pieces. So far, Warren Christopher looks like a major stumblefuck |
|
they cut back and forth between him and Jim Baker (a role Tom Wilkinson should get an Emmy for) and Christopher is as politically tone deaf as Baker is pitch perfect.
