We've Got To Get Out Of This Place
by The Animals:
In this dirty old part of the city where the sun refuse to shine People tell me there ain't no use in trying Now, my girl, you're so young and pretty And one thing I know is true, You'll be dead before your time is due, (I know)
Watch my daddy in bed and dying Watch his hair been turning grey He's been working and slaving his life away, (Oh yes I know)
He's been working so hard I've been working too baby, (every night and day)
(Chorus) We've gotta get out of this place if it's the last thing we ever do We've gotta get out of this place Girl there's a better life for me and you
Now my girl you're so young and pretty And one thing I know is true You'll be dead before your time is due, (I know it)
Watch my daddy in bed and dying Watch his hair been turning grey He's been working and slaving his life away (I know)
He's been working so hard I've been working too baby,
(Chorus)
Somewhere baby Somehow I know it baby
(Chorus)
Believe me baby I know it baby You know it too

Whenever I fly, I keep a couple of flavors of gum and a few flavors of mints on the radio panel for the copilot and flight attendants to help themselves to. The mints come in tins that reference the Bush junta. There is a tin of Embarrassmints, Indictmints ("eat them with conviction") and Impeachmints. All feature animated renderings of Bush and his politburo on the lids. Just about everyone I fly with finds them amusing, and most want to know where they can get some.
I was flying some months ago with a real right - winger of a copilot. About midway through the trip, he pointed to the mints and said, "you know, I could make a case for political harassment."
I replied, "I think you really should pursue this." "I just might," he said. I said, "of course, if you should choose to do that, I can guarantee you will never again see Fox News on the television in the flight operations lounge."
He never said another word about it.
Edited for punctuation.
