Sometimes I'm in the mood for Tangerine Dream. Other times it's Prefuse 73. Or maybe I'll let my mind descend into the curiously dark ambience that is NASA's Symphonies of the Planets series.

But tonight, for reasons that even I cannot fathom, it's Rising by Lustmord tonight. I find "Compassion" especially soothing, although "Destruction" almost always jars me awake if I don't switch the stereo off first.

Okay, so Rising was created especially as a soundtrack for a Satanic mass. So sue me, already. Either that, or make me read one of Ann Coulter's scholarly works.

And if all goes well, Carbon/Core will be mine within a week or so. :woohoo:

When "Destruction" started making its presence known, I stirred long enough to turn the stereo off and roll back on my pillow.

I sleep through all but the very worst of thunderstorms. You have to set off a lightning bolt about a quarter-mile above my roof in order to wake me up.

Somewhere in my CD collection, I've still got some dark ambient stuff from PGR and Arcane Device as well. Ooooh, yeah.

Anything with either a hypnoptic quality or a white noise quality will get the job done for me. Lately I've been playing a CD by White Rainbow that's great to chill too. Very trippy and relaxing.
