I'm sick :-(
i went to bed last night around midnight which for me is late, i woke up around 3:00am and started throwing up and it's been downhill from there. So as i'm laying in bed in the fetal position with a bucket next to me i start going through a list of what i've eaten to see if i can find the culprit and that made it worse, i got to Eggless egg salad and i thought i was gonna die. Now i'm finally up and my daughter just heated up a burrito from Trader Joe's, and the smell, it's all over the house.

1. I'm sorry.
If it's food poisoning and you don't get better in 24 hours, do go to the doctor. I contracted salmonella once and I was sick as hell for 3 days before I got the sense to go to the doctor (ER actually), and they cleared it right up within a few hours with an antibiotic or something.

 Take care. Sorry about the burrito smell--yikes.

2. thanks and yes the smell is killing me, i just opened all the windows downstairs
to try and move it out. I don't what i've got but if i'm still this bad off tomorrow morning i'm calling the doctors office. I'm supposed to take my daughter out for Vietnamese food tomorrow night, right now the thought of that makes me want to cry.

3. Hope you feel better soon
I know this is the last thing you want to hear, but be sure to stay hydrated. It's hard, I know, but it's so important & will help you feel better much sooner. Maybe some 7-up & saltines?

5. have you gotten to the part where you ache so much your hair hurts?
or the diarrhea?

I agree on finding out what has gotten you if you are not better by tomorrow. Go to doc in the box, though not ER. Much less expensive.

6. be sure and stay hydrated
drink pedialyte, the only time it won't taste gross is when you are sick, as soon as it starts to taste gross again, you're on the mend! :hi:

7. i'm really trying and for a little bit today it got better but now the nausea is
coming in waves, i can't lie down, standing up isn't much better. I had some plain toast earlier and that seemed to help but now it's back.

9. aww chimpsrsmarter :(
  :mentalchickensoup:

Water. Sip. Stay in slow motion mode, even as you begin to feel better. A nice soak in the tub might not be a bad plan before bed.

Here's to hoping that comes very soon :loveya:

10. Thank you. I just had to finish cooking dinner for my daughter, the stove died so i had to transfer
the food to the toaster oven and i thought i was going to pass out from the smell.

11. I had this in March
And I had to avoid the kitchen*, and the questions. They mean well, but rehashing an evening like that never helps until you've been better for a few days.

*Me avoiding the kitchen is like GDP avoiding arguments. ;)

14. I think I got sick on something oddly similar to that once.
Edited on Sat May-31-08 10:11 PM by otherlander
It was a wrap sandwich but I think it might have had real egg salad inside of it... I bought it from an art museum, which means it was all overpriced and all it gave me was an upset stomach and a really bad headache the next day.

On edit: Moral of the story: Don't buy food from art museums.

16. Just to echo -- stay hydrated
In the past, I've used Gatorade.

One night, my wife and I both got food poisoning. Onset was within 15 minutes of one another. It was very ugly, and (in retrospect) 911 should have been called.

Good luck, and hopefully this will end soon.
