12. It's a New England joke...
based in some truth.

There used to be a pasta manufacturer called Prince who had commercials declaring Wednesday to be Prince Spaghetti Day. The company has been gone for years, but something like 25% of all New Englanders still eat pasta every friggin' Wednesday.

A correlative to this is Friday. For some reason, Friday is pizza day. If you were to say to my mother for example, "Let's get a pizza." She'd most likely reply "But...it's not Friday!?"

Also, Sunday luncheon (or brunch)...biggest meal of the week. Often at a central house and everybody in the entire distant family comes over.

New England...land of the steady habit.

13. My dear malta blue!
Ooooh, now that sounds really yummy!

OK, here's the recipe:

1 cut up chicken...

Mix together:
1 package dry onion soup mix
1 can cream mushroom or cream chicken soup
Add 1 can full of cold water
3/4 cup raw rice

Mix these together, and then pour into a 9 x 12 inch baking pan

Place the chicken parts on top

Place into a pre-heated oven (350 degrees) for ninety minutes!

I ususally need to stir the rice mixture when it's done, since the chicken parts cause it to separate...

But that's easy...

It's really yummy!

15. that sounds delicious Peggy.
I am allergic to the mushrooms so I would use cream of chicken, but I need some easy oven dishes to cook for the little one once in a while.

17. It's not only delicious, but very easy!
I love waltzing out of my kitchen when that's cooking!

I won't have to go back to finish the rest of the cooking for at least half an hour!

Sometimes I even double the rice part because we love it so much...

It reheats well, too...

One for swim team practice and the other for her swimming lesson. And it is way too cold to have to go to two pools in one day.

33. I think I'm opting for frozen pizza tonight *lol* Hubby wants me to
cut his hair, and I was up late last night hoping to get a glimpse of Sarahbellum at the Obama rally - she got in! She was so excited, but they made her give up her signs (not sure how some folks got theirs in, but oh well...) She had one that said "Ya Sure You Betcha We Can" and one that said "My Mama Says GoBama!"
The line was a mile and a half long :-) :bounce: :-)
She said it was a great time!
