Just so I know - how the hell does one suffer a badly twisted knee in his or her sleep? |
|
Must have been a hell of a dream - sure wish I could remember it. :(
Anyone have any pain relief home remedies for this sort of thing other than soaking it or loading up on pills? It's not serious enough to call 911, I cartainly can't drive, and my HMO won't open until Monday.
Fuck, fuck, fuck.

2. I thrash around in my sleep |
|
and often hurt myself.(It's why I will no longer sleep with anyone - a fist in the face at 3am is not a good way to wake up.)
No real advice - soak it, place ice on it, and take aspirin or Advil.
Sorry, Khash.

3. Have someone go to Walgreens and get some Watkins Liniment. |
|
Watkins is old product, been around for many years.
It has been around since our Great,Great Grandparents time.
I have been using it for my knee, I have tendon problems.

Haven't seen one since my last trip to St. Louis. ;)
Appreciate the advice, though. CVS or Rite Aid should have it, and I have a neighbor who owes me several favors.
Thanks :)

We have them on every corner down here, next the Walgreens is a CVS.
I am sure the other stores will have it.
If not you can order over the internet.
Be sure to get cotton balls, and wash your hands afterwards.
You don't need much, the product soaks in very quickly.

8. The one thing I remember about Walgreens is this: |
|
My buddy in St. Louis and I have played hundreds and hundreds of games of Cribbage together. About 12 years back I was in the city and I went to Walgreens to buy a deck of cards before stopping by his place. I chose the Walgreens equivalent because they were half the price of Bicycle, and I figured that one of us or the other was going to spill beer on them at one point anyway.
We played about 20 games a day for close to a week, nobody spilled beer on them. I still have those cards, I still use them and they're in great shape. Obviously used, but they don't stick at all when being shuffled and none of the cards have even the slightest bend. CVS and Rite Aid cards suck. Walgreens cards, if they're still the same make, kick ass. If I had known, I would have bought five or six decks back then.
Thanks again for the advice, I'm on the phone with my neighbor as I type this. :)

11. Watkins is great stuff. |
|
My Grandparents kept bottles of it on the farm.
There used to be salesmen who went door to door.
Watkins was herbal before herbal was cool.

5. you sure it's a twisted knee and maybe not something else? |
|
sometimes I wake up and have horrible pain in my knee and can't even walk or drive because of it. I went to the doc and they said it was because of my flat feet and I needed shoes with arch supports in them.

10. I've twisted it before, |
|
usually by getting cleats stuck in grass playing baseball or softball. This feels exactly the same.
I don't have flat feet. I have ankle stiffness from an injury I suffered almost 30 years ago, but I doubt that anything having to do with my ankle caused this.
No problems last night when I went to sleep, and this morning I woke up with this pain.
Man, it sucks. :(

7. Is It Swollen And Warm? |
|
Might be something more serious than a twisted knee, sometimes blood clots can form behind the knees, otherwise it sounds kinda strange unless you hurt it before bed.

If you were to see it you would have no idea anything was wrong without me telling you or you seeing me limp.
I'm sure I twisted it somehow. I've done it before - usually in cleats (when I'm awake, obviously) - and it feels exactly the same.
