So tell me what you know about Maztalan, Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta |
|
These are our destination for our cruise next year, and I'm trying to study up the history and the hot spots so we can take advantage of our short stays there.

blue water, good snorkeling...it's basically in the desert. private boats can take you to a small opening in the rocks (cabos) where the Sea of Cortez and Pacific splash through. and they have gorgeous beaches :applause:
in Puerto Vallarta, where I've been twice, we spent the day at the Hotel Crystal which has a pool and bar area that fronts onto the beach and where they allowed us to stay for free during the day. by the way, Puerto Vallarta has got to be one of the most humid and hot places on earth. the ships dock pretty far away from the downtown area and there was a giant Wal Mart outside our balcony when we arrived.
Mazatlan simply seems like a big city to me, not really a tourist destination. I would've preferred to take the day trip to Guadalajara, but instead we went to a "resort" on a nearby island which was basically okay.
ps-buy your sunscreen here before you go. if you could find it in Mexico, it was $10 per container and in fact, the cheapest place to buy it was on the ship!

We'll be packing a few SPF's 70s for our trip.

5. There is a Mazatlan up on South Hill and a Puerto Vallarta just around the corner. |
|
PV's food is a little too greasy, but Mazatlan has enchiladas mole to die for.
Oh... you meant the actual towns in Mexico...:hide:
