They are both neutered males. I have never had more than one cat at once so I do not know if the fighting is normal. They normally get along fine.

1. Our two neutered males wrestle all the time.
Part dominance, part plain-old-fun.

2. I have two brothers that beat the crap out of each other on a regular basis
Both neutered, but still like to get into some rough and tumble.

Mostly harmless chasing and wrestling, they never get to the point of doing actual physical harm.

4. He just saying that he's had enough
Other kitty will respect the display, and leave off.

7. Yes, it has been "quiet" since then.
Mouse was the one who hissed. Mouse is also the skittish kitty - he hides from all of us most of the time.

About 5 minutes after Mouse hissed and stalked off away from Reese, Mouse came over to me, just to look at me. Then he walked away.

:loveya:

He is not a very affectionate kitty, so him coming to "see" me was a big step.

16. oh mine do that too. The hissing and yelling that eventually happens is just
one of them saying "All right that is ENOUGH, I am going away now'

Believe me if you EVER heard either of them get aggressive with an invader kitty you would be able to tell the difference right away.

Mine scream bloody murder, growl like dogs and do other very loud and scary things when a strange cat appears. When they used to go outside, they would gang up on wandering cats and trap them ..poor visitors suddenly found themselves surrounded by 4 very hostile male cats moaning, growling and screaming.

Three of mine are littermates, and they do all the tussling. They respect the elder cat and give him his space; they still think he is the 'Big Cat' LOL they are all much larger and heavier than he is but when they first saw him he was HUGH!!!111 to their tiny unfocused baby kitten eyes. I have never seen any of them get rough with him at all.

20. My son's cat is the elder of the household
He's as affectionate as can be, and my two boys head butt him and put their tails over his back every time they pass by him. He's an old guy, and they don't tussle with him; it's as if they know he's older and weaker now, and they let him be.

My son's female Tux, OTOH, is fierce. She's the littlest of the bunch, but my two toms, which are twice her size, give Marble a wide berth when she gives them the 'eye', and are very wary of her when she's in the room with them. They'll chase each other, but that's as far as she lets it go.

Just a little story, we have cats that live under our deck, and one of the feral toms was outside sunning himself when my son opened the sliding door, and Hobbes (his old kitty) went outside to see what was going on.

He thinks that all cats are like his housemates, all friendly. Well, this big gray cat immediately lit into Hobbes something fierce.

Hobbes was on his back, desperately fighting off the other cat, my son didn't even have time to respond when, like a black-and-white torpedo, Marble (the little Tux) streaked between my sons legs through the open door, directly into the big gray, sending him flying.

She was nothing but flashing claws and shrieking like a banshee. Hobbes beat a hasty retreat back into the house, none the worse for wear, while Marble stood at the edge of the deck growling as the other cat took off at a high rate of speed in the other direction.

She then daintily trotted back inside like nothing unusual happened.

21. I LOVE that story; good on her for protecting Hobbs .We had a small female tuxedo cat for 17 years
and she was often referred to as Queen Bitch of the Universe

Toothless, clawless she still commanded the cat portion of our household with an iron paw. She was definitely the Boss Cat. The 3 young littermate cats are still trying to figure out who is the Alpha Cat in their little sub group. It may not be resolved until after Thomas is gone.

5. Kitty rasslin.' It's normal.
They are play-fighting. My three will chase each other all over the house and sometimes a couple of them will roll around in a snarling ball of fur until one of them (usually Jeoffry, who is a big whiny baby) will announce he's had enough by hissing and scurrying away.

6. We have two neutered brothers.
They wrestle and play-fight at least once a day. We call it "KWF - Kitty Wrestling Federation", because they sometimes get so excited they body slam one another to the floor and stuff.

If one of them hissed and left the scene, it sounds like maybe the play just got a little rough and one kitty got hurt feelings. If the other kitty backed off at that point, I bet it will all blow over within an hour or two and they'll both forget all about it.

9. Totally normal
Mine chase each other and wrestle all the time.

Spencer is skittish, and with him, the play sessions usually end with him hissing and running away. I think he gets overstimulated.

Nothing at all to worry about, they're just playing!

They can get overexcited and run into things knocking them over so secure those valuables.

12. You should see Merlin teaching Kittimus how to "play nice"...
He will let him roll on him, and gently box paws with him but, if Kittimus's claws and/or teeth come out...one whap from Merlin sends him flying.

14. Sounds like normal play-fighting. My boys do that every day, makes me laugh!

Nothing to worry about as long as it ends when one of them hisses and runs away, and there aren't any actual injuries. Enjoy the show!

15. Mine often have little tiff. They'll start out licking each other and it turns into
a wrestling match. Last month one of my cats went off on the other. And for a week there was hissing and stuff. I was heartbroken that they wouldn't be able to make up. But they did in the end and now they get along just like before.

How serious are the fights?

19. When I had two neutered boys
they would fight sometimes, and sometimes bad, like, chunks of cat on the floor. Then a few minutes later they would be standing side by side looking out the window. I've had two neutered male cats (different ones) for probably 15 years. Yes, they fight. Yes, they mean it. In a minute, they get over it. They're like, "wanna haz some lunch?"
