My thoughts and prayers go out to all affected by these storms, including the tornado victims in the Manhattan, Kansas area who are receiving no coverage on MSNBC (except for the mention by that pencil-necked geek, Sam Brownback).

9. The look on his face is priceless. That's a man who knows he had a reason for being there today. |

14. It really gets to me because my cat, if wet, could be one of those two cats... |
|
...and yeah, he may get scratched, but what the hell?
I'd let 'em scratch me too if it meant saving them.

I've been looking at pictures sent by a friend who works for the power company in Cedar Rapids. Ouch. I'm trying to imagine how gross the Quaker Oats factory is if it flooded -- grain is mighty stinky, imagine damp and moldy grain. Eww. All you Iowans take care.

because CR Iowa is the hub and it is expected to be flooded out soon- It is strange because the expected crest of the rivers is now expected June 20th so we haven't seen the worst yet?

7. I've never held a wet cat very long. |
|
They start scratching and freaking, and have to be thrown down really fast.

10. Only if you are putting them in the water. They know when you are trying to help. |
|
They are clinging and frightened but not trying to get away.
