Did you ever sit in a chair like this --- springy???? |
|
A while back, I saw some expensive dining room chairs --- just under $450 each ---
They unusual for dining room chairs because of their bottoms which were not
traditional legs.
They had the kinds of bottoms which I've only seen before on outdoor furniture
and my son/daughter-in-law had some kitchen chairs like this . . .
Basically, it's a bottom which is like a U turned on it's side ---
Can you picture this?
I'm trying to track chairs like this but I can't if I don't know what to call them ---
other than a puzzlement ---

That's scarey looking stuff ---
You know, Drug Fair had an outdoor set with these chairs --- but you had to buy the whole set!

http://www.zfurniture.com/dining.htmlA bunch of different designs there. Some reasonably priced some outrageous. I have a list of stuff I want to buy from there but no money at the moment to do it.

9. So far no luck there . . . |
|
but these types of chairs can be very cheap or very expensive --- but always seem to be comfortable ---
The first time I really started paying attention to them was at my daughter-in-law's MOM's house and she had a "kitchen" table which was round - glass --- and black leather chairs with chrome and the bottoms were the inverted U -- very comfortable.
And, I told my daughter in law, I was going to look for some like it --- and then she told me they were $800 a piece!!!

Nice looking --- where did you find it ---
I'd like to find different varieties of this chair ---
Something I can use at my computer --- with arms--
PS: Actually, this chair you found really takes me back 'cause when I was a kid there used to be chairs just like it on many porches!

8. The fourth one ('Cesca') was a very common chair about 20-30 years ago. |
|
In addition to the cane backed variety, there were upholstered ones in fabric and leather and different stains for the wood. I worked in a company that had these Breuers as conference room chairs.

10. That's right, they really were more common --- now seem unusual --- |
|
there seems to have been a gap in their production --- went out of style --- surprising because they are very comfortable ---
