The Sandbaggers

was a late 70s British TV spy series that starred Roy Marsden. I first watched it many years back (I don't even remember where), and I enjoyed it immensely.

Anyhoo, I now have the chance to watch the entire series again, and indeed am now into the second season. It was a cold war thriller, and it focussed a lot on the political ramifications of such things as assassinations and coups.

If you get the chance, track it down and watch it. You will NOT be sorry!

1. A relative of mine wrote a couple of the episodes

after Ian Mackintosh disappeared (it was that disappearance that stuck in my mind more than the series, to be honest) - he'd been a writer on 'Warship' like Mackintosh, and also, like him, was ex-Navy. Glad you like it, anyway.
