I think that your license plate number should actually be your cell phone number so that when you cut me off in traffic, I can call you up and tell you to hang up the fucking phone and stop driving like a douchebag.

1. If I'm already on the phone
And drinking coffee, what makes you think I can pull the phone off my head, look at a new incoming call, and switch over. I'm trying to drive here!

2. I would actually like that.
Then I'd cut people off on purpose just so I could get a phone call.

Why am I paying $115/mo for cell phone service again? :banghead:

I'm paying $200 for unlimited for me, the midlets and Mr.

Sprint. Great deal, I think.

7. Good point. I hadn't thought about the ego factor.
No worries, here, though.

As TM said when she first got behind the wheel, "I'm a sweet driver".

This was as she almost took out the concession stand at the elementary school as we drove around the bus loop.

4. I won't answer my cell phone while driving and I tell people this.
I will pull over or call them back when I am no longer driving. it is illegal to talk on the cell while driving in CT but nobody pays attention to this law. I notice this when these cell phone talking assholes don't go when the light turns green and they just sit there and keep yapping away.

12. i think it was implemented within the last few years, this law.
I forget exactly when. all I know is people ignore it pretty much anyway.
Be it bluetooth or regular cell, if it causes the driver not to pay attention it sucks whether ones hands are free or not.

13. I find that I am actually MORE distracted with my headset on
when driving in NY.

I didn't realize you were in CT. I lived there most of my life. Where in CT are you? Most recently, I lived in Monroe. Before that, Stamford, Darien, Norwalk and New Haven.

15. I could walk to Mohegan Sun Casino from where I live
Edited on Thu Jun-26-08 04:07 PM by jonnyblitz
right next to Norwich in the tiny town of Uncasville. The Native American tribe that runs the casino is at the end of my street. I am presently about an hour northwest of Bangor, Maine visiting my parents.

16. Holy Crap! I LOVE that area.
Mr. and I spent some wonderful times at the Norwich Inn and Spa. We used to go to Mystic all the time.

Have you ever had a lobster roll from the SeaView Inn on that street just off 1-95 that leads to the seaport? Best on the East Coast, bar none.

I think half the people here in SoCal believe they have to have a phone clamped their heads or their cars won't work. What other reason can there be for every single jackass to be yakking nonstop while they drive? These empty-headed clowns can't actually have anything to talk about, for the simple reason that no conscious thought has ever crossed their minds. So, what do they do on the phone all day: listen to each other mouth-breathing?

The new law banning non-hands free phone usage is coming into effect in a few days. I'm guessing it will have absolutely no effect whatsoever. They may as well try to make breathing air illegal.

Maybe civilization CAN be brought to America's highways. Series. How many of those "FUCKING DOUCHEBAG, HANG UP THE FUCKING PHONE AND DRIVE" would you have to get before you actually start paying attention?

10. LOL. Some guy on a motorcycle did just that to me today
on I-64. He apparently missed his sign that his exit was a left hand turn and completely cut me off. Fortunately, I was watching him because he had been driving kind of dangerously.

As I passed him, he flipped ME off.

You can't make this shit up.

22. Left side exits should be banned nationwide
They're fine for the locals but they confuse the hell out of the tourists.

Especially tourists like me who rarely drive in the first place.

ps: I've done a lot of crazy things but I've never ever flipped off someone in a car while I was on two wheels. I just give folks a bemused shrug if they do something really rude.
