Seriously, there's a guy in my neighborhood who does that! I mean for real. With a real python just like the one in the picture. Same color and everything. I've only ever seen him do it on warm days, though.

4. If you're out walking with your snake draped around you, |
|
you aren't really walking the snake, are you? The snake should be on the ground on a leash, slithering along next to you. And then you'd really be slithering your snake, since snakes can't walk, technically speaking.

I see people wearing pythons and boas (and not the feathered variety) at just about every public event. Problem is when they get loose they thrive well down here, and can breed if they meet up with another of their kind. They are becoming real nuisance animals, like Galapagos iguana in the keys and carnivorous Cuban tree frogs.

10. He wasn't arrested for walking the snake. He was arrested for cruelty |
|
Edited on Sat Jun-28-08 08:40 AM by PeaceNikki
He was charged with animal cruelty because the 14-year-old snake had bruises on its body and because Dewberry took it outside on a cold day, he said.
Burmese pythons are native to Southeast Asia and need temperatures of at least 45 degrees to survive, Aversano said.
"The fact that he was out in the cold weather was not good for the animal," he said, adding that the snake was "resting comfortably."
It was January... in New York. He also didn't have the proper license to keep this snake.
