Diablo fans - Blizzard just announced that Diablo III will come out soon. |
|
Now if I can get it to work in Linux - that would be AWESOME. http://www.planetdiablo.com/features/articles/d3-04012008/Hawkeye-X

1. Okay, they're halfway done. |
|
Now they need Starcraft 2 and I will stop being mad at them.

2. I've been waiting on Starcraft for FAR too long. |
|
I can't imagine the possibilities they would have with that game if they would put the money and effort into it as they did with Warcraft.

13. Yea I can't understand that either, Starcraft had a much deeper storyline than Warcraft |
|
I understand why they are taking so long, because the balance in the first SC is absolutely brilliant and I'm sure it will be in the second one. But why they developed WC III and WoW years before even announcing SC 2 is beyond me.

9. Again: I will stop being mad when it comes out. |
|
I know they announced it. Then, in perfect Blizzard fashion, they almost immediately pushed it back.
Starcraft: Ghost, anyone? I'm not holding my breath.

12. Starcraft 2 is easily the most anticipated video game in human history |
|
I started playing Starcraft when I was 14. I joked with my friends that we'd be lucky if Starcraft II came out before we were 30. The cancellation of Ghost certainly gave some leverage to my prediction.
Part of the problem is that Blizzard now has a cash cow with World Of Warcraft meaning that they can afford to produce new games at a snail's pace.

I'm loving the suggestion thread; every suggestion comes down to Make D-III mor liek WoW! That be teh r0x0|~.
erm...No. If I wanted to play WoW...I'd fucking play WoW. ??? Because WoW is a pile of crap built upon a stack of compromises necessary to function as a MMO. It does what it needs to do...but it's by no means a well-designed game. Its' value is user-created, not inspired gameplay.
I want a new and better Diablo experience. I'm an admitted Diablo fanboy...I want what most Diablo fans want...dark, gothic fun with blood running down the walls and guts confetti and a bad-assed demon at the end to annihilate. I want to be scared again...D-II was a let-down in that respect. Bring back PKing, Bounty hunting added so much to the original game. I had so many ears. I want more questing for items. That giddy buzz of finding a rare plate-armor. PvP dueling. Total character customization. A great skill tree. Screw the casual gamers. Make D-III fun for those of us who have stuck by this series.
The one change I want is less left-click. I've been Diabloing for over ten years...I've got carpal tunnel from all the left-click. How about keyboard commands instead.

5. I was hoping for WotLK beta |
|
that splash screen had me excited all week!
Diablo III looks interesting though, maybe I'll find used copies of I and II at a local game store. (well, II at least, I is unlikely)

6. They sell them packaged: Diablo, Diablo II, and LoD in a battle chest... |
|
price varies but is somewhere around $25 new in stores.
Typically also, right before the new game of a series comes out they sell the preceding game's battle-chest as a "loss-leader" to draw in new fans who will then likely buy the new release. Especially if the new release is at the holidays.
