SeaMonkey browser question |
|
I downloaded and installed SeaMonkey for Mac OS X 10.2.8 from the Mozilla site. (SeaMonkey is the open-source version of Netscape Communicator.) A couple days ago, the URL bar, forward and back buttons all disappeared.
Reinstalling SeaMonkey didn't help.
Deleting all the preferences files didn't help.
Installing it on a different drive didn't help.
Going back to Safari helped, but I liked SeaMonkey.
Any ideas?

1. I had a problem with Firefox up until yesterday.. |
|
Mainly the search bar wasn't working - I deleted my profiles and started from scratch, and now it's working again.
Try doing the same - since SeaMonkey and Firefox are cousins?

2. It sounds like the URL bar may have been collapsed. |
|
And if so - whatever preference file that contains that information may not have been deleted, causing the same issue after a reinstall.
Look at the very top left of the browser - next to File/Edit/View/Etc. you should see a little arrow (pointing up, probably) just to the left of the word File. Below that arrow should be a couple more. Look for an arrow pointing to the side instead of up - click that arrow. See if that restores the URL bar.
Hopefully it's just that simple.
