Poll question: Do you wear clothing whose names are displayed prominently?
You know:

Calvin Klein (is he a heterosexual?)
Tommy Hilfinger
Old Navy

et al?

Which market are these brand names catering to anyway?

2. I deliberately avoid waring clothing with corporate logos.
It's enough that they pay us nothing and charge us the world for products that we all think could be made better and safer.

3. Hell I spend time looking for stuff without labels :)
Seriously, I've skipped nice clothing that was on sale because it had prominent labels, I hate big obnoxious labels.

29. Ditto too
Not only do I hate logo clothes, but despise some of the free logo clothing I get from work, with the company name emblazoned somewhere.

5. When I was a kid...
I thought things with corporate logos were so cool. My dad wouldn't let me have something I wanted with a Budweiser logo--don't remember what it was. He said I woudln't be wearing the Budweiser logo if they weren't paying me to advertise for them. (I think it was about the fact it was a beer logo and I was like 13, really.)

Nowadays I simply don't like clothes with logos, but it's more because my taste in dressing is much more quiet than that. Give me chinos and a button-down and I'm happy. But I also don't want to be a billboard.

Edited on Sat Feb-21-04 10:30 PM by bigwillq
like that. But not for those reasons. I don't love showing off the names but I do like how some of those clothes look and feel. Real comfortable and made nice. No shrinkage factor usually and sometimes they have cool designs. I have a few Tommy shirts that are striped and with cool colors.

edit: spelling

That is probably one of the best shirts I have ever seen!

And if the the damn cable companies keep insisting on 'giving' one all those shopping channels, they should pay you $8 a month for every shopping channel they force on you. Ain't Amurika great, they make you pay for advertising.

It's a restaurant in Stillwater, OK, that has spawned tshirts and casual wear. I have three t-shirts from there...and they're really neat, and I know people in Europe who have sought after them. Do sports T shirts count? What about Music shirts?

Some of my jeans have bigger tags than usual, which I bought becuase they fit well. I have a couple branded shirts which I liked the color combos and bought on sale. Most branded stuff is more expensive. Why pay extra so you can advertise for them? They should give you a discount.

Pretty much all the time. At work, I replace the Jeans with Chinos. I buy the Shirts from Bean because they really do last a lot longer and are unrecognizable as any particular brand. I won't even wear Polo Shirts 'cause of the logo.

A whole bunch of Puma stuff, but that's just cause my brother-in-law works for Puma Korea so I get it for free.

If someone gives something like that to me, I usually donate it to the needy.
