Edited on Thu Jul-17-08 05:26 PM by EOO
So far this year has been pretty damn disappointing for new albums. Here are some that I've enjoyed:

- Mars Volta - The Bedlam In Goliath
- Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Dig Lazarus Dig!!!!
- REM - Accelerate
- Gnarls Barkley - The Odd Couple
- The Racontuers - Consolers Of The Lonely
- Opeth - Watershed
- The Roots - Rising Down
- Flogging Molly - Float
- Coldplay - Viva La Vida

3. Float by Flogging Molly, Mudcrutch by Mudcrutch
I think those are the only two that I've bought so far. Flogging Molly still has their edge but their songs seem smoother somehow. I bought Mudcrutch on the advice of the guy from CBS Sunday Morning and I am glad that I did. Tom Petty and his first band before the Heartbreakers put out a well written album, even if it is a bit "country". I like them both!

4. Todd Rundgren's upcoming "Arena"
I've heard a few recordings of shows in which he plays the new album top to bottom, and it's quite good.

5. Radiohead - In Rainbows
Also love the Raconteurs' sophomore effort. Punch Brothers is also outstanding if you like bluegrass.

6. Watershed - kd lang
it's the only 2008 release I've bought.

I'm not sure what else might be good, I haven't been shopping in a while.
