Looks as if I have a chance to buy a house and move to a job at Wal-Mart.
A job that can springboard me into a PR position. The house is going cheep. It even has a tornado safe-room. It will run me the same as renting, so why not? At lease I won't suddenly be evicted due to the landlord not paying the bank!

1. I know that many see them as the evil empire, however it is one of the best jobs you can get.

5. That is the odd part.
Around here, they give their employees full dental, medical, stock options, 401K, the works.

6. yeah, around there, and maybe for certain employees
but the company also has a history of hiring undocumented workers (ok, so it was subcontracted out), paying them less than minimum wage, and locking them in the store overnight. They've also just closed stores outright when employees started to unionize. I think WalMart is a truly evil company that has played no small role in destroying America. I never shop there, and I don't think anyone should ever work there unless it's an absolute last resort.

Hubby did that 2 years after college

LONGEST two years of his life, but he is in IT and it is very cutthroat

9. in a year
first I do four month learning about how the stores run by being part of a sales department then I go regional, and finally at HQ! It is nice to have school friends in the right places!

7. Congratulations.
I can't stand Walmart, and won't give them any business, but you need to work so I won't begrudge you a good job. :)

I hope it's a wonderful house and you get to enjoy it for a long, long time.
