1. Do you own a burr grinder too? |
|
Until you've had (properly) fresh-ground french-pressed coffee...you haven't really had coffee. I have people tell me..."Chan, I don't like french-pressed coffee." or "Why would I spend $75+ on a coffee grinder?"
I explain: "That is because you don't truly love coffee."

5. I love french press coffee but didn't know what to do with the grinds afterwards (the ones you have |
|
to rinse out of the press, not the ones that obediently go into the garbage). So I gave up.

6. The ones that "go into the garbage" can be composted. |
|
They are great for garden soil.

Refill the french press with tap water to 1/4 full.
Using a stirrer or spoon, break-up and dislodge the "puck" of grounds from the bottom.
Swirl press rapidly so that the grounds are pulled off bottom by centripedal force and up into the water.
Quickly (before grounds settle), pour water and grounds into compost or "grounds for gardens" bag.
Repeat, if necessary.

8. I have no taste or class |
|
when it comes to coffee (I can drink instant, even though it isn't my favorite and the usual is regular old folgers) but I do think it tastes better from a press.
