This is my third time down here since November. The first time left a lot to be desired (attempted armed-robbery), but work-wise was totally stimulating and I couldn't wait to come back and integrate our services.
Then we had our 4-day training at the beginning of the year and I didn't want to leave after it was completed. The amount of dedication and passion down here should be bottled and distributed throughout the world.
Now we're back again, to do our one-day follow-up, and to promote our new national program, which we'll be implementing in September. The interest today was overwhelming when we met with the four agencies that responded to our initial outreach.
The wounds are still open and bleeding, though, especially in the social services community. And like this New Yorker after 9/11, it has turned into a passionate anger that is totally kick ass.
"This is how it is. This is what needs to get done. This is how we're gonna make it happen."
I'm more than happy to help in any capacity you need me, New Orleans.
How has your week been, DUers?

Because if you drove, then I'm mighty pissed at you for not stopping and having a cup of coffee with me! I'm about 100 miles north.

A 40 minute layover, condensed to 10 minutes as we ran to our connection, go figure :eyes:.
But I'm probably coming back in September.
And I am here until Saturday...
