This guy lives down the street from my sister.....
What an effing mess!!!!

Hundreds of corrugated plastic yard signs sat piled in James R. LeBlanc’s backyard Monday morning, advertising everything from garage sales and real estate to political candidates.

LeBlanc said Monday he picks up signs that are illegally placed in the public right of way, but others think he is overstepping his bounds and creating an unsightly mess at his 939 Rue Desiree home.

David Richardson, a Realtor with ERA Stirling Properties, discovered LeBlanc’s stacks of signs Sunday.

Richardson, 36, said that for the past six Sundays, someone has been picking up the signs directing potential buyers to his open house in the Lakes of Highland subdivision mere hours after he put them up.

Fed up, Richardson and fellow Realtor Rick Truax began looking for their sign bandit Sunday, and spotted LeBlanc plucking a sign on Bluebonnet Boulevard.

A peek from the yard of LeBlanc’s next-door neighbor Kenny Broussard confirmed that LeBlanc was their culprit and that he had amassed quite a cache.

“It’s a classic hoarding situation,” Truax said.

1. The guy sounds like an ass!
What, has he been commanded by his potted ficus to rid the county of improperly placed signage?

3. He may be a little compulsive...
The thing is, the law of the Parish clearly states that any signs placed in private property, medians, and right-of-ways are subject to removal. It doesn't specify WHO can legally remove them, though. He's within his rights to remove them, but WHY? I guess he doesn't have enough to do.

4. Are those things even recyclable?
The plastic ones I mean?

Why go with those corrugated plastic things, a cardboard sign may only last a few weeks, but that is generally how long you need a campaign sign to last, and it is recyclable or at worst biodegradable.

Is a corrugated plastic sign with a shelf life of 100K years really necessary?

5. I don't know if they're recyclable or not....
But I'd be willing to bet they're cheaper than the cardboard signs by a significant amount.
