My mechanic wants $800 to replace the radio in my 1974 VW Beetle

Said he could have it done by August 8th.

Is this a good deal?

...The Carpenters, Simon & Garfunkle, and Neil Diamond. Every 8-track player I ever saw had those three cartridges stacked next to it.
