3. Oh, the cat was taken in by a shelter and the woman in the pic is fostering her.
I think they said the owner has until Sat. to claim her or she'll be put up for adoption.

4. She doesn't look like 44lbs to me, but then I'm not real good with guessing weight.

5. Here's another picture of her with another cat close by

It's hard to say from photos. I know they said she couldn't be weighed on their regular cat scale.

12. My brother has a kitteh that is in the high 20s and is about the size of that one. However she is
a longish-hair so she takes up as much visual space as the kitteh above. I think that is what is messing with my perception. I am used to a lighter cat that is just as "large".

15. Long fur can make them look bigger than they are.
Our Sir Thomas was a bigger boy too and had very long hair. Giving him a bath gave us a better idea of his true size, got us scratched up too. :)

It looks like Princess Chunky's belly must be about 10" across.

7. It looks like Princess Chunky will get adopted if owners don't come forward
I'd almost see if I could put 2-3 more pounds on her just to get the world record and then princess chunky goes on a diet.

8. It would be tempting. I see they're going to test her
to see if she has any medical issues causing it.

13. Apparently Guinness dropped the "fat cat" record
for precisely that reason: to keep someone from trying to fatten up kitty.

14. Alas, dear Winston, you have been dethroned
a friend back in Conn. had a great big tabby who weighed in at the vet's at 32 lbs.

Thing is, he was at the vet's because a bout of diarrhea that had gone on a couple of days. So we were thinking more like 35 lbs.

Winnie's favorite foods? Turkey -- and broccoli. :eyes:

Darndest thing, a cat that big had this piping, plaintive little meow...

19. Turkey and broccoli?
I fear what grand kitty would do to me if I offered him broccoli. :scared: Although he does like the top leafy part of celery. He acts like it's catnip.

17. Chunky would be a big cat even if she weren't fat. She's really long.

20. Yes she is. I was looking at the size of her hind paw
Granted it's spread out a little bit in the picture, but it's just huge.

21. OMG that's funny.
Killed his humans and ate them.

She seems to be quite popular now, being shown around the country. Our local news did a spot on her last night. It won't be long and she'll have a home. I do wonder though what happened to her owner.
