1. Never quite understood why people do that
especially after watching a friend set his beard on fire, even though it did give me the golden opportunity to hurl an entire pitcher of beer into his face.

2. This is the second youtube posted here today featuring someone
setting himself on fire and being startled to find out it HURTS! I guess this is a side effect of kids losing touch with nature.

3. more like 'losing touch with common sense in favor of copping a feel from Father Time"
They'd be better off finding a prostitute; getting herpes. Now THAT is a burning sensation they can live with...

4. True story from a reenactment I was at -
The group had set up their German Landsknecht camp, complete with campfire and chicken roasting over it. A guy walked in with his young son, who was fascinated by the cooked chicken, which had fat dripping off of it, as roasted meats will. The son asked his father if the chicken was real. The father assured his son that of course the chicken was plastic because you could see the plastic dripping off into the fake fire - which he then touched to show his son that the fire, and presumably by extension, the chicken, were fake. The father was very grateful for the very modern first aid kit we kept in camp and the cold water in the pail close to the fire pit.
