Sales technique known as the "boardwalk pitch", derived from hawkers of substandard crap on the Jersey boardwalk.
Saw one of the rare "history channel"-type shows that offered valid and interesting information on a cultural phenomena.
Look for the standard "BUT, WAIT!..." come-on and the "added value" pitch that hallmarks the promotion style.
