2. nope, stuck with the 20''
didn't want to fork over extra cash for a bigger screen and the specs on this one are great and will handle the video editing i'm going to be doing with it very well

3. Schweet!
I'm looking for a new computer myself. I'm torn between the new Imac and the new HP all-in-one system with the touch-screen.

I desire minimal desktop clutter.

One quibble about the Imac... I can't beleive Apple isn't including the wireless keyboard and mouse as standard with that system.

8. Play around with the touch-screen on the HP before you buy.
I've found that HP touchscreens can be pretty lousy. Much of the Pavilion notebook range use "passive" screen technology that is pretty much worthless (you have to press so hard it feels like you're going to break the screen, just to get it to register). Even the "active" screens are fairly lame: the accuracy drifts off very quickly, so you have to keep recalibrating the screen over and over.

Touch-screen technology will ultimately be mainstream, but it has a way to go before it's debugged sufficiently to be really useful.

For now, I'd recommend the iMac. If you really need to write or draw onscreen, get a cheap Wacom pad. They work well.

4. Welcome to the club
The iMac is a wonderful computer.

I'm waiting on the suspected September update to the Laptop line to upgrade my Powerbook G4 to a MacBook Pro. Mine still runs fine, but I have some serious techlust for a new one. I got burned pretty badly last time because I upgraded about two weeks before the Intel switch was announced :banghead:
