And so we say goodbye
to California and Hello again to Ohio - we are leaving here in about 12 days.

Now it is time to start the dreaded packing everything up, loading it onto a truck, and then hauling all that shit 2300 miles.

It will be nice to have seasons again, to see rain, to watch it snow, to see the fireflies twinkling on a warm summer's night.

Anyone in Ohio interested in a meetup (We will be in Columbus) - the only two people my wife and I have met face to face here are each other, but both of us have friends from here we chat with on the phone (which has been wonderful and fun for us both).

Keep an eye on our photo album for new pics of the Buckeye State.

I will be taking the 40 to the 44 to I70, so if ya live along there toss some food at me as I drive by :)

2. Yeah, just not working out for us here liked we had hoped

We spent the first 9 years together in Ohio and we both miss a lot about it, and I think she will feel better there than this hell hole called bakersfield.

We said we would move here and try it for a year, well it has been almost 15 months.

Started thinking hard about it a few weeks ago, and when dad offered to rent the truck and pay for the gas we thought about it even more :) My family are all pitching in back there to help us get home and settled in.

Wife and I both have been happier the last few nights than we have in years, laughing our asses off and talking about the things we used to see and do there.

It is good to her smile again.

6. I'm on the 40.
I'll blow a hit your way!

Consider staying on the 40 and going up to Durango, CO (go north in NM or go through the Res before leaving AZ). From there you can catch the 550 which is the most amazing, scenic, mountain bad ass highway I have ever driven. Not really moving truck friendly, but maybe have someone else drive the truck and you 2 can take a mountain road trip. The 550 ends up at the 70.

9. My dear Straight Story!
And you'll be as modest as ever too!

PM me your phone number when you get there, and I'll call now and then...

We have a good long-distance plan and I have no problem calling...

11. You'll get over "the seasons" after one season.
I did. Came from a tropical climate and I also "missed the seasons". That lasted for about one winter.
