Hey, Lioness and Peg and ThomCat and the other NYC meetup folks: We might have |
|
a bit of a problem with Mrs R being able to get down there tomorrow.
The Little Guy is at this moment upstairs sleeping, trying to shake off a 101-degree temperature, and looking awfully damn pale in the process.
So Mrs R may have to stay home with him tomorrow, because she doesn't want to leave him with his older brother if he's not feeling well. Dammit. I know you all want to meet her, and she was excited at the prospect of meeting you all, not to mention that fact that I was really looking forward to having an Adult Day Out with just the two of us. Damn kids; they get sick at the worst possible time, every time.
But I'll be there, barring any disasters (I'll be the tall guy with the cowboy hat). Oh, and a question for you NYC folks: Would a NYC cabbie spit on me these days for grabbing a cab for such a short ride as three blocks up and two over from Grand Central? That's the kind of short distance I'd have walked in my sleep even just a few years ago, but these days it might or might not be the kind of distance I'd ride instead. Especially dependent on the temperature.

1. I think the NYC cabbies like the short rides better than the long ones... |

2. Oh, that's right, because of the minimum charge. I forgot. And here I actually drove a cab for |
|
a few months, but that was, I'm guessing, in 1970.
