It's August and I'm already blessed with nigthmares about snow. |
|
I had a crappy dream last night which first involved my best friend getting her hair highlighted exactly like mine, and then it snowed a ton all over my yard. My whole garden was dead.
In actuality, the peas in my vegetable garden are dying back. I keep cutting off the dead growth despite the fact that it's pointless. I just can't stand to look at it. It's a reminder that the summer won't last much longer, and the weather will promptly turn to shit. It's depressing. I can't stand the thought of looking at snow.
Once again, I would like to request that the dream gods grant me one measly pleasant night. The dream about eating Chips Ahoy was okay, but that's kind of tossing me scraps, really.

1. I hate bad dreams, especially ones I can remember. |
|
When I was young, I hated the thought of snow, too. Now I just hate the heat so much I welcome autumn. I hope that you can take a break from winter this year to vacation in a warm place.

4. I think I get sick of the snow because it's around so long. |
|
I might be more inclined to your preferences if we had a lengthy period of heat. We don't have a/c, and it hasn't really bothered me at all this year!

-75 wind chill was not uncommon. Don't miss that at all. Am in CT now, and for the most part, it's not as bad!

13. I remember most of my dreams! |
|
For a while anyways. They are always strange and most of the time they involve people that I grew up with in my home town.

8. Now that's a typical DU dream! |
|
I had a dream about five nights ago that I sold a screenplay for a million dollars. When I excitedly told my husband about it, he said "Yeah, but that's before taxes". Now that's your typical dream.

16. It's too logical, though! |
|
So maybe it is a typical DU dream, then! It makes too much sense. Most of my dreams just go on and on and have people from different parts of my life and there is no real plot value there! I love dreams! I am glad that this post was started, because I find other people's dreams interesting!
By the way, what would be your take after taxes?

14. Sounds like a college frat prank! |
|
I had some friends that shaved another friend's hair into an arrow type thingy. This was in 1979 when long hair was the thing. We were terrible!! Never did one eyebrow, though--wish i was about 30 years younger, could try that prank on someone!! Ha!! We did write nasty stuff upon the face of a guy that was obnoxiously drunk afer he passed out. I had to lock him out of my room when he woke up. Too funny!! I am still awaiting maturity and I am quite old.....guess we will have to save it for the next generation!

My heater shit the bed in my ancient truck and he took an extension cord and blow dryer and defrosted my windshield! Yes!

10. But it is harder to grow a decent garden down here |
|
too much sand and heat. I've got to admit; I don't miss Ohio winters!
I wish I had bad dreams like those. Mine are usually about nuclear holocausts and having everyone I know die. :-(

11. Yikes, that IS a bad dream, |
|
It's even a little bit worse than a Minnesota winter!
(Not that I've ever been in MN, but I imagine it's something like MI's Upper Peninsula - cold, snow, and people talk funny, eh?)

People talk funny everywhere from what I can see! I'm from Maine, but have lived in a few other places where people couldn't figure out what kind of accent i had. Canada? England? Beerland?

Where are you now that you have only sand and heat? Sounds like a novel! I have never had a dream as drastic as yours. Mine just seem to be me moving to a town and trying to get my shit out of another apartment. I used to move around a lot, but no more. Have been in the same place for over 7 years, but the preceding 14 years seems to have stuck with me!

I have a lot of strange dreams, but never have had one about hair highlighting. I have really long hair, so I can't do anything with it except try to comb out the snarls. It's fried already from dying it every color under the sun. Y'all!
I am always dreaming that I am at some job where I am about to be fired, or have been already and am trying to get back in!
I hear ya on the passing of seasons. The older you get, the faster it goes. It sounds like your dreams are of life going by too quickly? I don't think snow is as pretty as I used to, due to the fact that I have to go in 4-wheel drive to get up my damn driveway in the winter. And I haven't skied in ages. Keep the snow on the postcards, I say.
I liked living in southern CA for that reason. If you wanted to ski, you just drove for a couple of hours, and you didn't have to deal with actual winter.
