If making a puff pastry is possible, how about an anti-puff pastry? |
|
I was thinking this while watching last night's episode of Iron Chef America. Secret ingredient was puff pastry.
And so I thought, if they can make a pastry that as it heats up it expands and puffs - shouldn't then also the opposite be a possibility? A pastry that, as it heats, condenses down until it becomes a black hole?
That's what I wanna see.

6. hell, I have MADE cookies that are hard as hockey pucks. Pita bread, actually meets your |

specifications, They rise up with nice big bubble in them if the dough and yeast are working right, and collapse when they cool.
Perfect pita bread comes out of the oven looking like a little balloon, and you poke it with a sharp knife or a fork and steam comes rolling out of it and it looks like a pancake.
Little Lebanese place in FW brings the pita straight from the oven, it is TDF.

In that case you might blow yourself up if it came in contact with a puff pastry....

They're called (in America, anyway) biscuits, and they're the nastiest fucking things you'll ever eat. Much like many things Southern.
