Laugh. A lot. My husband is getting a minivan.
BWA HA HAAAAA!

His truck is falling apart and he needs a cheap replacement. His grandparents  offered to sell him their minivan for cheap.
He asked me what I thought about buying it and I said, "It's up to you. I don't care. YOU are the one who will be driving it."

It's white with little blue "waves" on the sides.

I'm not driving it.

1. He's setting you up for the inevitable: future Corvette purchase.
"But hon, I drove that minivan for a whole year. I deserve this."

10. So?
They're not so bad. I can see why families buy them. Lots of room for kids and cargo.

13. Hey, sometimes I wouldn't mind a minivan, myself...
...just because of all the stuff I can haul. And that minivan would look sweet for a trip to Padre Island, I tell you what.

16. what it means
It means that he's not too proud to put his nuts in a jar, provided he is allowed to look at them on occasion.

Not that he will be able to use them, with the minivan, that ship has sailed.

19. Car snobs
I've been driving a Dodge Caravan since they came out in '84-'85.
I've also had cool cars, like my MGB.
And pick up trucks.

But the minivan is the most versatile vehicle I've ever had, or probably ever will have.

We got a Prius last year, so the Caravan stays in the carport most of the time now.

23. I drove a minivan for eight-ish years.
I replaced it with a station wagon. If he wants a minivan, he can drive it. I'm sick of 'em.
If I had a sweet-ass one like Midlo, it might be different; my old one literally wobbled all the way to the junkyard.

25. I'm on minivan #4. Love, love, love it.
I can haul in it like a pickup no matter what the weather and it's so nice inside, it's like sitting in my living room.

I'll be hard pressed to drive anything else when the kids are all grown.

21. One of my favorite cars was a minivan.
Of course, it didn't have little blue waves on the sides.

Dodge Grand Caravan ES. Black, spoiler, 17" chrome rims with low profile tires. Carried more than a pickup, and went more places. I drove that thing from Orlando to Las Vegas, drove down a snow-covered mountain in Albuquerque on a dirt road that was closed for the winter and was only used by snow mobiles, drove several miles past the "four wheel drive only" sign on Padre Island National Seashore...

Damn I miss the van. No idea why I sold it.

22. Tell him to embrace it
I remember the day my truck died and we had to get another vehicle. 1990 Chevy Astro Van. Had to buy something that would make sense for 4 years with little kids. After the divorce I kept the mini van and drove it into the ground. I loved that Van.

24. My wife won't let me have one!
I'm a Hammond B-3 organ player fer pete's sake...minivans ROCK for schlepping an organ and Leslie to a gig! I have to make do with a digital clone and the Leslie, which fortunately fits in my Kia hatchback. I'd love one of the older Caravans in panel-truck trim with the 4-cylinder and stick shift...loads of cargo room and decent gas mileage to boot. Just a pay-cash-for-and-just-keep-liability-on-it vehicle, wouldn't be a daily driver by any stretch...
