but in the ascendancy of the Reagan 80s, SNL had a recurring skit called Run, Liberal Run, i.e. a fake TV show about a last lone eco-minded, poverty fighting, etc. type guy having to go underground, bouncing from safe house to safe house of moderate--but frightened to admit it or keep him too long--former friends.
