My Coworkers are trying to pop popcorn with their cell phones

Apparently one of them got some viral video showing 4 kids lining up their cell phones around a small pile of unpopped corn. They call their phones simultaneously and as the phones ring, the corn starts popping.

I told them they were stupid to believe that works and laughed when it didn't.

When the experiment failed, one of them said it was they only used 3 phones (I refused to let them use mine) instead of 4. Another said maybe they should try microwave popcorn instead of regular. I told them it would work if they used microwave popcorn in the microwave.
