Nearly had a Heart Attack When I Bought a Can of Paint Today

A QUART, mind you, just a quart of black paint was $16.57 and the roller brought it to near 20.

When I gulped, the clerk said, "That's the third increase Benjamin Moore has given us this year. And now they're even charging us for delivery." She went on to say it's "because of the gas thing."

I looked on the back of the paint can and there was plenty there about petroleum distillates.

I don't normally patronize Benjamin Moore but I needed the advice of the guy who runs the local paint store. Benjamin Moore is not exactly what we'd call an "earth-friendly" company.
