The plateau is over! I benched 355 lbs. tonight! |

Edited on Mon Aug-25-08 10:50 PM by LostInAnomie
I'd been stuck at 340-345 for a couple of months. Finally, tonight I managed to put up 355 on flat bench. I tried 360 lbs. and ended up wearing it.

Congratulations! :toast:

3. How many reps? And did you count the bar? |
|
I ask because that's a really odd benchmark weight.
Also, legs up or flat?
Congrats, regardless. That's a good bit of weight.

7. One rep with 45 lb. bar included. |
|
Three 45 lb. plates and two 10's on each side.
Legs flat (but I didn't arch) with a one second pause at my chest.

8. I used to work with a guy... |
|
...that said the most he had done was 3 reps of 650 or so, if I remember the number correctly.
No I did not see it, but all you had to do was look at the guy and you knew it was true. He had tried out for the NFL a few times and had been 95% of what they were looking for and had switched to training for strong man competitions.

I have started lifting a bit recently. After running into a broken leg I decided to do what I have been reading for a long time and adding some lifting. So I am basically doing a water polo workout-lift and swim (no leg kicking)
I have dropped 20 pounds since July 8th and that includes noticeable change from my upper body lifting. Noticeable.
Good job.
Nice guns dude!!!
