3. I've heard a saying...
That the Higher Power (whatever you choose to call him/her/it) made the last stages of pregnancy deliberately uncomfortable so that women could get beyond their fear of giving birth just to get it over with.

Wishing you the best of luck, a safe, easy labor, and a happy, healthy baby!

4. My daughter was due June 10th
and born July 31. That was 27 years ago.

She was establishing a pattern of stubborness that she still lives up to.

6. 8 lbs, 10 1/2 ounces
she was born holding her head up by herself and laughing out loud, she was compared to a three month old baby.

I had a midwife who did not believe in inducing labor unless medically neccessary. I went in every day and was hooked up to a stress moniter (the baby's stress, obviously, not mine) and sent home every day until I finally went into labor.

Believe it or not (and this was in 1981) my daughter was the smallest baby out of the five born that day in that same hospital. We were all patients of the same doctors group, but I was the only one who went all natural with a midwife delivering.

8. I believe it because I was born around that time, and I was 9 lbs.
But I would have had to been induced. Bless your heart!

9. Well, the night I went into labor
all I wanted to do all day was clean every single thing in my house and that is what I did. I dont know if that caused my labor, or it is some kind of instinct.

If you get to feeling that way....it could be very close. I have heard of other people doing the same thing.

And when he finally did come out, it took 24 hours of labor to make it happen.

My kid was born on my due date and a week later they called me about the induction. It was hilarious.

12. You need to get it on!
It stimulates oxytocin production.

I have distinct memories of being overdue, piling pillows under my butt, and instructing my husband to "just hurry up and do it."

15. Go to Culver's
My wife's water broke at Culver's.

Every time we go to Culver's now my little tot (6.75 months of the cutest tot ever) takes a massive BM.

Culver's is good for getting what is inside of you out.

19. lol, you'll get through it! I remember feeling the same way,
as I'm sure most mothers do.

On the night that BB Maine-ah was due (nov 8th) I couldn't sleep, which was rare, all I wanted to do was sleep. Hubbie said.....let's go to bed (with no intention of sleeping, lol) I said, whatever, but don't expect much on my part. Four hours later at 12:15 am, my water broke and was in labor for 24 hours, I only dialated 5.5 cm after 2 rounds of pitosin (sp?). She was born c-sect...8lbs, 7oz. God, I was in so much pain by the time I was 8 months pregnant. So much weight. I'm a very small person, 4'11" and 115 lbs. By the end of it all, I was 160 lbs. I was 15lbs over weight when I got pregnant, 130lbs.

I very rarely miss being pregnant, but once and a while, I'll have either a muscle spasm or a little bit of gas and it reminds me of those first days of feeling my babe move for the first time. There's some side effects from the c-sect that I could certainly live with out, I'm still numb from the surgery, and have a very sensitive lower abdomen. Sometimes BB will jump on my belly and it will hurt like hell.

It will be over before you know it, and you'll be home with your beautiful babe.

2 weeks before or after. I was hoping for the before. I feel like I have been pregnant for years. It has been a long rough road I tell ya! That 5 month long morning sickness about did me in.

25. I know it is hard, but try to enjoy the time you have left.
Once baby comes, life will become hectic and erratic. Plus, you will be very sleepy! I actually missed feeling the baby's movements after birth - it is a lonely feeling. Although, at the time, I could not wait to deliver either!

Congratulations on the impending birth of your baby!

26. I experienced that same grief..missing the baby's
movement, but I gave birth a month early. It was an odd feeling. I was thrilled that he was born and everything was fine, but I had not reached the point of wanting it to be over.

37. I had that "phantom baby" feeling a lot after giving birth.
I'd wake up and think, "Oh, the baby is kicking" and then I'd remember ... oh, wait, the baby is OUT. :)

29. I will miss feeling the baby inside me. I will now have to share her.
But I feel like a 90 year old woman trying to get around. My feet look like overstuffed sausages. I have carpal tunnel. I can't breathe. I am SO SICK of maternity clothes. I guess I am just not one of those people who enjoy being pregnant. I really try my best not to complain, but there are those days that I got to let it out.

34. I totally understand.
With my last (born May 2006), I carried him completely in the front. All 10 lbs of him! I got heartburn from drinking water. Could not wait for him to be born. My back hurt, I could not sleep - hard when you feel the need to pee every half hour and I had cankles so bad that I could not get any of my shoes on my feet.

It will end soon. No one has been pregnant forever. I look forward to seeing pictures of your precious baby.

Tracy

32. You should come to my house for pasta when you're ready
My one girlfriend and I have prompted THREE deliveries by having a big pasta dinner with friends who were overdue.

The second time one of the woemn was pregnant, she actually called us and said "can you make this baby come out? Can we do dinner again? Please?" and damned if she didn't deliver the next day with that one as well!!

I don't post as much anymore so I wasn't aware that you and LIW were due soon. I have another 2.5-3 months to go and not quite sure how I'm going to make it with work and everything.
I am sure that you'll make it through the final days of your pregnancy just fine though.
