A question of incest
Just a random thought:

If you are someone who has a very common last name, such as Smith or Jones, and you meet someone who you are attracted to romatically who shares your same last name, do you psychologically shy away from that person out of the fear of incest, even though the chances are you are not anywhere close to being closely related?

I've always wondered that. It's questions like that I'm glad my last name is extremely unique and that I know people who share it are somehow related to me going back several generations.

1. Me, I'd dress up like an elf, screw like bunnies, and run for president on the vampire ticket.

3. My last name is Smith...
My last name is Smith, and I've never really thought about it before.

Incest? It's actually the furthest thing from my mind.

5. Not so sure about that. I grew up on a very small island where almost everyone
is related to everyone if they had been there long enough. We didn't know it at the time but hubby and I have a common great great etc grandparent, and not only was my grandfather my cousin, but he was also his own cousin. And my nana's parents were first cousins, I think.

My kids have all the right number of digits and heads, so thus far it's all good. :)

6. heh.
Considering that 90% of the people I've met with my last name are a totally different ethnicity than me, I don't particularly worry about it...:)
