1. Yet another reason I don't watch television
Reality shows based on people who make a living pretending to be someone else (actors).

2. And shows like the Osbournes and Gene Simmons
All written and scripted but people believe the shit's for real.

3. Tell me about it
I mean, hooray for Cloris. I loved Young Dr. Frankenstein and everything. But fuck, how dumb of a subgenre of television can there be?

Next, we should have Entertainment Tonight On Ice.

4. but is dancing with the stars a reality show? it seems like it's a variety show or competition show
and they go back to the very beginning of TV. It's not quite, imo, like reality shows like the Osbornes, The Real World, Kardashians, etc.

5. I've never really tried to analyze it
Maybe it is a throw back to the dawning of television. If that's the case, I would deduct that television has always sucked. No offense to television fans but I don't see how anyone can sit there, usually for hours on end, and put their mind on 'receive' mode.
