He could have been ripped apart for backing down when Rove told him not to run for Senate.

* while Sarah claims to champion family values, she has left her son of less than 6 months and has Down Syndrome to run for this national office
* McCain has acknowledged that he doesn't believe experience matters, since his running mate is sort of experience to even be mayor of a top 10 US city.

8. Uh-uh. Wrong approach on the former. |
|
A baby with Downs is just a baby; this distinction doesn't compel some martyr-esque commitment on the part of the mother that parenting ANY infant wouldn't. Let's think in terms of what the Republican party does with regard to funding health care and special education. Therein lies the contradiction in values.

7. She is the Governor of Alaska (for the last year and a half.) |
|
The only other political experience she has is as Mayor of a small Alaskan town.

5. It just proves how desperate the McCain campaign is. |
|
After last night, they have to try anything. Palin isn't that bad of a republican, and she's a woman, so they think that she's going to appeal to the center, or to Hillary's supporters. But THEY ARE WRONG. Hillary's supporters who were voting for HER, were voting for HER to be PRESIDENT. Not Vice President. President. McCain is a really poor substitute for a woman... and having an Alaska governor as his running mate, purely by virtue of her gender, is NOT going to work.

14. But not just any token female: |

*A lifetime member of the NRA.
*A member of Feminists For Life. (Trust me, this is a gift. Religious conservatives hate them with a passion and liberals and most women see right through the "freedom to abort is not a feminist value" schtick.)
*Lacks experience.
*Her claim to fame is ethics reform. However, she has a questionable record on ethics and is currently under investigation for dismissing a state commissioner for refusing to fire her former brother-in-law in the middle of a messy divorce.
*Supports "responsible" drilling in national parks.
*Opposes gay marriage. Can't seem to have the same opinion twice on civil unions or same-sex benefits. (She's for them, she's against them, she feels we need more discussion and public input. Blah blah blah.)
Biden is going to cream her in debates on policy matters of any issue and we'll throw Hillary out on the stump to reveal Palin as the quisling to the issues that women care about that she really is.

How utterly transparent.
Ya think she can deliver Alaska's electoral votes?
Nothing against Alaska, mind you. But isn't it about as red as Alabama (my state)?

19. Mainly because she doesn't bring anything to the ticket. |
|
She can't carry a key state for him and most Americans have no idea who she is.
Additionally, she is shockingly inexperienced to sit a heartbeat from the Presidency. Two years in state politics.
