omg, you guys.
I just realized. One time I was hall monitor, in the 8th grade. And I was captain of the middle school volleyball team, despite being a total fucking nerd.

I can so totally be Vice President of the US now!!

THANKS, SARAH! :loveya:

(If anyone else wants to list their own qualifications for being VP in light of this historic day, feel free.)

You equate actual membership in the NRA as a qualification. Understand that as a card carrying member of the NRA, you are familiar with how the organization works, thus disqualifying you on the grounds of actual experience. I on the other hand, have merely read a pamphlet, thereby giving me the utmost in qualification: Ignorance!

I look forward to our debate, where your knowledge and experience will be confounded by my supreme ignorance, and you will be exposed for the card carrying NRA elitist that you are. Ha!

45. Uh... I was the youngest System Operator of a BBS in Arkansas, and the first "juve"?
Aka, juvenile, young person on BBSes interacting with adults.

(It was kinda freaky, I got ahold of a BBS list and called one of them.... turned out it wasn't the kind a 12 year old should call. I was honest about my age and phone number in the registration, and the SysOp was watching on the local console. He took over the session and browsed me to the adult section. I disconnected the line, and he called my house. He thought it was someone making a fake account, he didn't actually think I was 12. He was rather surprised and said "Honey, you need to be more careful, and don't call here again.")

63. Yeah, it was a bit odd...
But that was in '92.

What I can say was that the adults in our local BBS community did believe in protecting children. While yes it was freaky that a weirdo had my phone number and address and knew I was 12, the guy didn't do anything with it other than scare me with the phone call.

And when a person who I trusted from the community crossed a line and I told someone about it, that person was completely banned from the entire BBS scene in our city. I told one person, literally just one person. That person happened to be another SysOp on our Fidonet group. He contacted every SysOp in the area to let them know that someone was harassing minors.

It's sad that pervs can't be policed so easily anymore.

I quit because I didn't really fit in with that stuff. I wonder why.

Does my 6 months of being "thrifty, clean and reverent" count?

105. Who said anything about getting your hands dirty?
Just wait until the hurricane dissipates, head down to the areas hit hardest for a couple of hours, bring the press with you, take lots of pictures, and tell the people that you feel your pain, that help is on the way, and that they will not be left behind. Then, you get back on your chartered plane, return to Washington, and celebrate a job well done.

See? No need to get dirty!

107. I once passed Chemistry
without doing a single one of the assignments.

Additionally, I was injured while reading, and have the scars to prove it.

In the third, I once took a swing dance lesson. One lesson, mind you, which ended abruptly and messily when I learned that spinning the gal was easily started, but not easily ended. I think she may still be down in that basement twirling around, and I assume that by now her stomach is fully empty.

Edited on Sat Sep-06-08 03:37 PM by DeposeTheBoyKing
And I was totally a teacher's pet in every class! And I was asked to serve as an office aide my junior and senior years because I was so responsible! And I was student council vice-president in junior high! And I was on the journalism staff, a Kayette leader and co-captain of the flag/drill team! I also co-starred in plays! I was co-editor of the poetry/creative writing journal! I was first chair cello in the high school orchestra! I won third place in advertising in the state journalism contest despite the fact that our newspaper didn't have ads!

I can be QUEEN OF THE UNIVERSE! Bow before me!
