I just talked to a friend I hadn't talked to in probably 15 years!
I had gotten a disturbing email from a mutual friend of ours describing her health problems and general life problems and had tried to call her. Instead I got in touch with a friend that I hadn't talked to in what seems like a lifetime.

It was good to talk to her and hear how her family is doing and her children and husband and the whole nine yards.

Meanwhile the wind is whipping up and it is raining cats and dogs here in the Fort.

Its been for the most part a bummer of a day for me so talking to friends has been helpful including a person from DU.

Life is weird yanno, just freaking weird.

I canceled a campout at a music fest with someone that I dated for a whopping 3 weeks, and talked my son into going on a cub scout campout the same weekend. So :woohoo: I am probably doing the right thing anyway and as I look at the person I dated I wonder why it even lasted 3 weeks given the yo yo that seemed to be the status quo for her life.

So now I'm happily (mostly) single again, and weathering out the remnants of Gustav.

:hi:

Just checking in with DU my friends on the internets because there are so many people here who mean something to me in some way or other.

thanks

:grouphug:

BTW, just what the hell is McCain smoking? Palin has got to be the worst pick I can imagine except that she excites the evangelicals I guess which he does not.

:hi:
