If you saw this thread, then you know what I'm talking about: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=105&topic_id=8055014Those of you in and around Los Angeles who like spas or ever considered going to one, I HIGHLY recommend this place: http://www.glenivy.com/index.php/resortFan-freaking-tastic. Shockingly inexpensive by LA standards, and beyond wonderful. Worth the drive to Corona. I'm going back again next month.

2. Well, first you have to drive way the hell down to Corona (but it's totally worth it). |
|
$35 on weekdays (and way less crowded then, so worth a day off if you want to take one), and $48 on weekends gets you in and access to the mineral baths, the mud, the drying room, the floating pool, the lap pool, about three other pools and countless lounge areas, all the towels your heart desires, access to the bath house (including lockers, showers, roman baths, sauna, etc.). Stations throughout with free mineral water to drink, plus 3-4 little cafe-type places and a smoothie bar. Extra spa services (massages, pedicures, etc.) if you want them for additional fees.
It was FABULOUS.
And one cool thing, considering its proximity to LA: it draws a range of people of all ages and sizes (and men, too), with zero body consciousness. It rocked.

How far away is Corona? Not that I particularly care, since I seriously wish I could climb in my car and go to the spa right now, regardless of distance.
The mod hot tub isn't cutting it today. :P

4. From Hollywood, it's about 75 miles. |
|
My front door to their front door. And freeway traffic was easy--we were going against rush-hour traffic, so it was 70 mph pretty much the whole way.

Anywhere from 1-3 hours then, depending on traffic. :P
Thanks for the info!
