First, thanks to all of you who responded (and those who noticed, but didn't respond; I appreciate that as well) to my post about having acquired the damn blood clot two weeks ago.
Guess what? I woke up this morning and had two legs of similar diameters. That wouldn't have surprised me three weeks ago, but today it was a victory of sorts. Especially since, a few hours later, the doctor called and said that not only would I be able to cut down on the anticoagulant-medicine dose, but that I can also stop shooting myself.
(Shooting, as in giving myself an injection every day. (Not "everyday," you'll note.) Not that I'm whining about the injections; after all, our diabetic friends have to do that all the time, and forever.)
(And may I mention, for those of you in the medical field, that my doctor is still kind of astonished at seeing a DVT condition materialize NOT after prolonged standing or being sedentary, but rather after prolonged walking, combined with inadvertent dehydration and a knee full of jagged bits of broken cartilage and rogue scar tissue, just waiting for the odd platelet to float by and get irritated into forming a nice little clot? This may be one for the medical books.)
Hey, I told you that if all the other stuff I've been through didn't kill me, that this wouldn't either. Believe me now?
And thanks again for all of your good words and concern. You guys are great.

I had no idea that was happening, Redstone... Strange how you can miss major goings-on like that.
Anyway, I'm really glad that you're seeing improvement. Here's hoping for smooth sailing from here on out!:hug::hug:

8. Hey, it's only major for ME, so no big deal if you missed it - I'm sure you have enough |
|
major stuff close to home, so I would never fault you for not being able to keep up with all the problems other DUers have.
But thanks for the good words, anyway. My life in general has gone on an upward curve recently. It's been a rough time for me since 2001, but things have improved a LOT lately, and 2009 is going to be a damn good year for me and my family.
I'm really optomistic right now, and that's not just wishful thinking. I've genuinely come to terms with my medical problems, and have figured out how to work through them and kep my business running. Life is good again.

I am really astonished and happy that this happened so damn fast for you...
And I'm even happier that you've come to terms with your health and what to do about it...
Prosperous days and healthy ones to you, always!
