Well that isn't helpful at all. WTF?
"According to AccuWeather.com Forecasting Director Ken Reeves, "If Ike maintains its strength, it will either plow into Florida or turn to the north on a path similar to Hanna. There is also potential for a weakened Ike to pass through the Straits of Florida into the Gulf of Mexico." "

So basically what you are saying then is "I don't know"

1. Reminds of Lewis' Black bit about a weather forecaster telling us where a hurricane would come in
The weather guy said something like "it should land somewhere between South Carolina and Maine"

2. On the bright side, know all those people in Australia can stop worrying!
I noticed the other day that all the media reports about Ike seemed designed to stir up as much fear as possible - we've had the :scared:Summer of the Shark!!:scared: - I guess it's time for the :scared:Summer of the Hurricane!!!:scared:.

:eyes:

Not to say that these storms are trivial, but the breathless and content-free reporting doesn't do anyone any good...

3. Hurricane path tracking is more of an art than a science.
And I should say your friend is VERY lucky his wedding isn't this weekend..Tropical Storm Watch for Hanna is up on Marylands Southern and Eastern Shore, INCLUDING DC..(something that we rarely see here)

5. Stay safe.
Stay safe and be careful. Hanna gave us a rainy mess the morning--I actually skidded into a guardrail, but fortunately it looks like just a scuff that some turtle wax can fix.

As for my friend's wedding, I just hope the airports down here in SoFla are open next Friday!
