4. We had another one in the neighborhood
but unfortunately I saw it squished on the road yesterday a few blocks from home. I was worried it was mine at first, but I saw my buddy this morning and was relieved. :)

5. Apparently there's a bunch of them here in the Twin Cities
I know people in several parts of town who see them frequently. It must be the climate, or the water, or that damned RNC that screwed things up last week.

3. cool
I have been having lots of fun observing a rock squirrel I bottle fed and that is now living in my house (mostly in a cage, but she gets several hours of play time most days)

6. Oh, that is so cool! I love squirrels
They are definitely the cutest rodent, IMHO. Bunnies are nice, but there's something about squirrels I like.

8. Lots in Brevard, NC
Many on the campus of Brevard College (my alma mater).

A family in Brevard was given a pair of white squirrels and they eventually turned them loose -- they proliferated and have existed in Brevard since the late 1940s.

Interesting story at link...

they are cute little boogers.

11. Interesting story and they are both cute and unusual. Thanks for the post...
And I think I have been to Brevard. My grandmother lived in Black Mountain, so I've been there countless times and loved the entire area. Beautiful country...:hi:

10. Very cute! And a great close up pic!
Do you feed him? I have no issues about squirrels at the bird feeder, in fact, enjoy them more. I always put sunflower seeds on the ground when I fill the bird feeder, so they can reach it... This little one is quite unusual...:hi:

20. I just moved here on Tuesday, so I haven't fed him yet
However, there's a big walnut tree in my backyard that is a squirrel magnet. They climb up, get the nuts, then hurl them at the ground to break them open. It's pretty funny to watch. :D

25. They sound like a riot to watch! LOL.
Is there more than one albino squirrel? Very unusual. We have the grey squirrels around here, lots of them because we're near the woods, and I love watching their antics...:D

19. Hell yeah!
Sadly, if you want to see another one, there's one squished in the eastbound lane of Selby about a block west of the Cathedral. I saw it yesterday and thought it may have been this guy, but thankfully it wasn't!

13. There was one around here all winter.
Last time I saw him was around June, but I didn't see any squirrels all summer, so maybe he'll be back when the weather turns cold and the bird feeders start looking tempting.

I never did get close enough to tell if he's an albino or a leucistic, though.

14. there is, or was, a colony of them in Toronto
They lived on the campus of the old psychiatric hospital (known for it's address as "999")but as that is being redeveloped now I wonder if they will find a place to hang out until all the turmoil has quieted.

17. One lived in the park across from an apartment
I used to live in. Also, my parents had in their yard a squirrel with no tail. The other squirrels were mean to him, so my mom would chase them away. He eventually learned to run a short distance when she came out, but to go back to her for treats!

The story is that the Seneca army base had a large fenced acreage. The commanding officer permitted hunting on the site, but no one was allowed to shoot the white deer. Eventually there was an entire herd of white deer.

21. WOW
WOWEE it's pretty. I may have seen a photo of one before (in my extensive squirrel research) but I don't remember one! This is SO COOL.

We have black squirrels in northern VA, I'd never seen them until I moved here.
I wish I'd have an albino someday too! I've been feeding my squirrels so long I already have an extra share of squirrel families.
