1. yes and yes.
I actually liked the movie better than the book. Best use of four drops of blood in a movie.

4. Read the book and saw the movie online--in Spanish!
Glad I read the book, so I could kind of guess what they were saying--Spanish is a little rusty and I never could conjugate the verbs beyond a certain point!! Great movie, though!

I also recommend reading "A Thousand Splendid Suns" by the same author it is about the most plaintive account of a woman's situation in a backwards culture that I have ever ever seen.
